We are currently searching for a Brand Manager to work from our Cary, NC office and lead our Amberen brand in North America. Amberen is the number one selling menopausal supplement within the US. The portfolio includes two products: Amberen Menopause and Amberen Perimenopause. The product was first launched in 2007 and was recently purchased in late 2020 by Alliance. Now after a year with Amberen, we are embarking on an exciting 2022 where the Brand Manager will be expected not only to grow the trademark, but also work to reposition Amberen to widen its appeal with its target consumers. This is an exciting role designed especially for someone who wants to come in quickly and make an impact.

As the Brand Manager you will be involved in:

  • Brand Leadership – build and evangelize new Amberen brand positioning, drive the core creative idea through the line, from consumer communications to packaging. Develop and own the brand plan.
  • Budget Management – own entire annual Amberen marketing spend from planning to implementation; responsible for establishing “check-in” routines with leadership to tightly forecast, optimize and flex the budget through the year.
  • Media Strategy Development and Deployment – own all aspects of the “digital-first” media plan – including overseeing content calendars, community management, paid/owned media outreach and PR.
  • Shopper Marketing/Key Account & Broker Support – serve as lead brand contact for broker network and key retail as needed; drive brand presence and communication strategy on Amazon and brand-owned ecommerce sites.
  • NPD – Manage innovation pipeline for the brand. Tasks include executing consumer research, competitive analysis, packaging design and consumer communications to roll-out under the Amberen trademark.
  • Agency Oversight – work with a variety of consumer, trade, advertising/media/PR and third-party executional agencies to drive the overall brand strategy and annual plan.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA preferably in business, and/or marketing or a related function; MBA preferred
  • Local to the Cary office
  • 5+ years successfully leading a consumer brand; pharmaceutical or OTC experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including comfort manipulating data in excel, IRI, Nielsen, Amazon Analytics.
  • Digital experience: demonstrated capability with planning, building, and managing campaigns through search, social media, Amazon and other ecommerce strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work well cross-functionally - including across marketing, finance, operational and sales functions to create winning “go-to-market” plans
  • Top presentation skills to influence the wider organization; expertise in turning data into a compelling story to rally the larger organization or commercial behind driving results
  • Dedication to optimizing brand performance and outcomes both with consumers and customers.
  • Business Acumen – clear understanding of what inputs yield what outputs and the ability to craft “SMART” KPIs
  • Energy – must have a strong appetite to learn and eager to take on unforeseen challenges
