The purpose of the Data and Reporting Technology Manager is to
- Lead responsibility for building and operating the Data & Reporting Centre of Excellence services and deliverables.
The Centre of Excellence will provide a focal point in the business for the delivery of data management, data analysis and data quality tools and services and for the development of operations control, MI & KPI reports and dashboards.
The services will require a range of platform technologies to be identified, procured and established, with the skills and resource to optimise outcomes for the business
What you will be doing
- Define, build and operate the services and deliverables of the Data & Reporting Centre of Excellence as required from time to time by the key business stakeholders; to include all processes, tooling and skills required to deliver.
- Creation and custody of the group Data Strategy to ensure projects and deliverables drive and support its implementation, and that business stakeholders uphold their accountabilities within it.
- Build, lead, motivate and develop a core team of technology specialists, embedding a culture of quality and
- customer service with a strong continuous improvement ethos. To include both employed team members and engaged third-party service providers as appropriate to each role and skill type.
- Maintain good relationships for service delivery with your key business stakeholders, identifying their needs for technology products and services, agreeing the roadmap for delivery, and ensuring timely delivery to agreed quality standards.
- Manage the full development lifecycle of your Centre of Excellence deliverables, including access to
- resource outside your direct control, both internal and external to Alliance.
- Own the business cases for introduction of new technologies and tools within your Centre of Excellence and drive the benefits delivery with the business to ensure return on investment is realised.
- Manage the full ownership lifecycles of all technology products required within your Centre of Excellence, to include third party support and product maintenance needs.
- Ensure good quality documentation of deliverable designs, configurations and processes to enable ongoing continuity of support, maintenance and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain good vendor partnerships and relationships to ensure quality support for the technologies critical to your service delivery.
- Manage forward technology spend expectations to support the financial planning cycles; monitor and manage technology spend within an agree annual budget/spend forecast.
- Remain abreast of technology, regulation
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related subject would be advantageous
- Good general understanding of data management principles
- Good general understanding of the reporting development lifecycle
- Stakeholder engagement with senior functional managers
- Building delivery roadmaps and driving execution
- Experience managing or leading small teams
- Experience in managing in-house technical development teams
- Experience managing third party delivery would be advantageous
- Experience managing data management platforms and tools
