As the Finance Director, China, your job purpose is to

• Provide critical financial support and advice to the Head of China and will be full responsibility for all aspects of the local legal entity reporting.
• Have full ownership for the reporting of accurate and timely Profit and loss, Balance sheet and Cash flow information including monthly sales and profit forecast, supporting heads of functions in their costs monitoring and producing variance analysis & commentary of the regional P&L.
• Be responsible for the management and development of the local China Finance team (currently two FTE)
• Ensure the China finance team works collaboratively with the UK head office finance team and any outsourced providers in the China region.

What you’ll be doing as the Finance Director

• Provide strong local leadership, working closely with the Head of China and the local management team.
• Continually challenge and assist the business to improve its financial and operational performance.
• Support the Head of China with accurate and timely commercial reporting and analysis including actual and forecast performance.
• Set a framework of rigorous financial analysis for all key activities including financial ratios, working capital and other key performance indicators to ensure the efficient use of cash.
• Manage the local budgeting and planning processes ensuring tight financial control is maintained over the business.
• Responsible for the local entity accounting (incl. both profit & loss and balance sheet), cash flow forecasting, bank accounts, payroll, and liaison with any outsourced providers.
• Ensure local statutory entity reporting complies with its local Financial, Audit and Tax Accounting obligations including applicable tax registrations, filings and payments, local codes and legal matters, local statutory audits and group tax planning,
• Ensure the internal financial control framework is aligned with Alliance’s business requirement and culture from an audit perspective
• Support the Group’s external audit (including Intangible impairment assessments) as necessary.
• Manage and develop the local Finance function.

What we are looking for

• Degree in Accounting / Finance or other educational qualification complemented with the accounting / finance certification (CPA, CMA, etc.)
• Extensive experience in Finance / Audit and track record in a multi-national global organization with head offices in Europe or the US
• Senior leadership experience providing financial support and analysis to commercial and operational functions
• Ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively with senior management and external providers
• Excellent communication both written and verbal.
• A confident individual with a proactive attitude.
• Proven ability to deal with confidential matters and with discretion.
• An individual who can multi-task and keep calm under pressure.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc)
• Experience with Power BI would be a plus
• Fluent in spoken & written English; fluency in another Asian language is a plus.
