As the Group FP&A Analyst, you job purpose will be to
- Play a key part in the progressive development of the FP&A team.
- Be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and development of the Group’s Business Intelligence tool, Prophix, as well as forming strong relationships across the Group and Corporate Budget Holders.
- Maximise the company's use of financial data to understand and drive performance, through consolidating the Group’s unit forecasts and reporting for the company's international businesses.
What you’ll be doing as a Group FP&A Analyst
Business Partnering for P&L Consolidation and Monthly reporting:
- Lead the facilitation of monthly Group Consolidated P&L through the group reporting and planning tool (Prophix).
- Collaborate closely with Finance Business Partners based in UK, France, Singapore, China, and USA to develop the rolling 24-month sales forecast.
- Maintenance of Prophix, guaranteeing the accuracy of reported numbers and conducting essential audit checks for data integrity.
- Actively identify and address potential business opportunities and risks within the business forecast.
Business Partnering with the wider business:
- Collaborate closely with the Sourcing Team to update the procurement prices, modelling the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) values in Prophix, factoring in demand and inventory levels.
- Deliver comprehensive monthly analysis on Warehouse and Distribution costs, including variance reports, to the Head of Finance and Supply Chain for strategic insights and to aid business decisions.
- Oversee the accuracy of processes and controls for allocating central warehouse and distribution costs across regions and business units.
- Support Senior FP&A analyst on business partnering with department leads and relevant EC members – providing ad hoc analysis
Month End Report and Review
- Analyse and prepare accruals for central UK overhead costs, working in collaboration with the Group Financial Accounting team and Heads of Department.
- Conduct thorough review and checks of the management accounts to ensure correct allocation and coding across the business unit and department P&Ls.
- Proactively reach out to key stakeholders to resolve issues identified.
Group Business processes:
- Be a key member of the Group FP&A team that facilitates the Global Budget and Strategy Plan processes across the company.
- Take a lead preparing budget & strategy plan submissions with the Supply Chain team for COGS and Warehouse and Distribution costs.
- Support Senior FP&A analyst on budget and Strategy Plan submissions for overhead departments
- Provide quarterly insight into the forecast for senior management including YTD and YTG analysis and identify gap closure analysis.
Business Improvements
- Utilise your experience and business knowledge to challenge and improve the financial reporting, analysis and planning processes and outputs we deliver to senior management and across the group.
- Lead calls with Prophix Consultants, to develop and enhance the reporting capability of Prophix.
- Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
- Provide high quality ad-hoc analysis as required.
What we are looking for in our Group FP&A Analyst, is someone who has / is
- A Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
- An experienced business partner or someone who has demonstrable experience of communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
- System experience with BI tools would be desirable. Experience of using Prophix or D365 an advantage.
- A strong financial reporting background. Comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Excellent communication skills and can effectively communicate at all levels across the business, including presenting results, budgets, and plans to senior leadership in a meaningful and comprehensible way
- The ability to prioritize effectively and manage time to deal with operational duties and ongoing business projects.
- Highly detail orientated, and willing to investigate and resolve complex issues to completion.
- The ability to take responsibility for their team’s deliverables to meet challenging deadlines.
- Able to apply the appropriate level of professional skepticism and self-review, considering in advance potential internal or audit queries.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the impact financial accounting processes can have on the wider business.
- Confident in building and maintaining relationships with key members of the non-finance team.
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver continuous improvements. Presents solutions rather than raises issues.
