Job Title: Group FP&A Analyst

As the Group FP&A Analyst, you job purpose will be to

  • Play a key role in the continuous development of the Group FP&A function, contributing to more efficient, insightful, and forward‑looking cost reporting and analysis.
  • Strengthen relationships across the Group and with budget holders, supporting them in understanding, interpreting, and acting on cost information.
  • Enhance the use of financial data to drive performance, ensuring cost insights, consolidated forecasts, and analysis provide clear guidance to senior management and operational teams.

What you will be doing as a Group FP&A Analyst

Business Partnering for Cost Consolidation & Monthly Reporting

  • Lead the month‑end process for all Central G&A departments and OCOGS related to R&D project costs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with Heads of Department across the UK, France, Singapore, China, and the USA to ensure accruals are complete and submissions meet Group reporting standards.
  • Conduct thorough review and checks of the management accounts to ensure correct allocation and coding across the business unit and department P&Ls.
  • Actively identify and address business opportunities and risks within the cost forecast, providing clear insight and commentary to stakeholders.
  • Proactively reach out to key stakeholders to resolve issues identified.

Business Partnering with the wider business

  • Collaborate closely with Heads of Department to ensure costs are actively monitored, providing regular updates on spending and highlighting key trends or concerns.
  • Work with stakeholders to track costs and deliver insightful analysis, helping them understand drivers, cost pressures, and performance against budget.
  • Support departmental leaders in preparing accurate cost forecasts, explaining monthly variances, and ensuring assumptions remain up to date.
  • Oversee the accuracy of processes and controls for allocating G&A costs across regions and business units, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency.
  • Support the Senior FP&A Analyst on business partnering activities with department leads and Executive Committee members, including preparation of high‑quality ad hoc analysis.

Group Business processes

  • Be a key member of the Group FP&A team that facilitates the Global Budget and Strategy Plan processes across the company.
  • Support Senior FP&A analyst on budget and Strategy Plan submissions for overhead departments
  • Provide quarterly insight into the forecast for senior management including YTD and YTG analysis and identify gap closure analysis.

Business Improvements

  • Utilise your experience and business knowledge to challenge and improve the financial reporting, analysis and planning processes and outputs we deliver to senior management and across the group.
  • Analyse complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
  • Provide high quality ad-hoc analysis as required.

What we are looking for in our Group FP&A Analyst, is someone who has / is

  • A Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • An experienced business partner or someone who has demonstrable experience of communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • System experience with BI tools would be desirable. Experience of using Prophix or D365 an advantage.
  • A strong financial reporting background. Comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication skills and can effectively communicate at all levels across the business, including presenting results, budgets, and plans to senior leadership in a meaningful and comprehensible way.
  • The ability to prioritize effectively and manage time to deal with operational duties and ongoing business projects.
  • Highly detail orientated, and willing to investigate and resolve complex issues to completion.
  • The ability to take responsibility for their team’s deliverables to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Able to apply the appropriate level of professional skepticism and self-review, considering in advance potential internal or audit queries.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the impact financial accounting processes can have on the wider business.
  • Confident in building and maintaining relationships with key members of the non-finance team.
  • Self-motivated and driven to deliver continuous improvements. Presents solutions rather than raises issues.
