As the Logistics Manager, your job purpose will be to

  • Ensure the logistics function contributes to Alliance’s ongoing success within the US.
  • Ensure that our logistics functions support the company’s growth and development while effectively and efficiently managing the customer experience.
  • Oversee activities at our distribution center and those undertaken by our carriers and delivery service providers.

What you’ll be doing as our Logistics Manager

  • Oversee all activities at our distribution center.
  • Oversee all delivery interactions for customers within the USA.
  • Manage the relationship between cost and service in an agile manner.
  • Oversee all customer communications around the fulfilment of our responsibilities.
  • Measure and drive performance in our activities to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Play a key role in the negotiation of new service contracts alongside the Director of Operations (North America).
  • Work with central logistics and head office functions to drive performance, innovation, and identify new service propositions.
  • Ensure that operational, tactical, and strategic planning for site activities and carrier services are being undertaken.
  • Ensure that relationships and contractual obligations are being met by all parties within your remit.
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
  • Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes, and process shipments.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
  • Maintain database(s) of logistics information.
  • Review logistics processes and procedures; identify, recommend, and implement improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Review and analyze transportation costs, parts procurement and delivery processes, inventory issues such as back orders, and other fulfilment metrics.
  • Use analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and control logistics operations and processes.
  • Monitor warehouse facilities to evaluate inventory transactions such as receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity.

What we are looking for in our Logistics Manager, is someone who has / is

  • A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field or extensive experience in a logistics role for a consumer healthcare or consumer packaged goods company.
  • Certified in International Society of Logistics (SOLE) and/or American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) would be preferrable.
  • A strong knowledge and experience of shipping and distribution channels, and working within the logistics field
  • Extensive experience in a contract management or site general management role.
  • Extensive experience in a carrier management, delivery service management role.
  • A good understanding of Profit and Loss in an open book environment
  • Ability to lift to 15 pounds
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
