Hybrid-working (Chippenham Head Office)

Are you a Qualified Indirect Tax Manager (ACA, CTA, ATT) with good experience of VAT compliance in a multi-jurisdictional environment, ideally gained from within a multinational in-house tax team involved in complex supply chain issues?

Working with the Senior Tax Manager and other tax, finance and supply chain colleagues, the role is focused on managing UK, EU, Switzerland, US and APAC indirect tax matters and acting as the point of contact for technical and advisory matters.

You will be a key part in the enhancing of standard procedures in the business, the improving of understanding and visibility of indirect tax and the maintaining of strong links with supply chain, logistics, and ERP teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • The management, preparation and submission of VAT/GST/Sales Tax and WHT returns for all companies/regions.
  • The management, preparation and submission of ECSL, Intrastat dispatches and arrivals reports, and MOSS and VIES declarations.
  • The preparation and submission of UK plastic packaging tax returns, assisting with the review of EPR returns and the monitoring of upcoming plastic/other environmental taxes being introduced globally.
  • Working with the tax team to develop, review, test and maintain tax analysis and process automation tools.
  • Raising and dealing with all queries relating to VAT payments and corresponding with HMRC and other international tax authorities.
  • Reviewing commercial contracts to ascertain opportunities and ensure compliance, considering tax clauses and risks.
  • Monitoring new legislation, case law and tax policy developments, documenting clear positions and delivering clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Monitoring of e-invoicing requirements in the EU and other relevant territories and assisting with implementation of required e-invoicing solutions.

The Person

  • Qualified Indirect Tax Manager (ACA, CTA, ATT)
  • Experience using financial reporting systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other automation/data mining software.
  • Proven knowledge of current and up-coming VAT legislation.
